Wayne L. Kingston
WASHINGTON TERRACE – Wayne L. Kingston, our beloved father, grandfather and friend passed away peacefully on Friday, March 26, 2010.
Wayne was born September 14, 1924 in Taylor, Utah, the son of Clarence David and Viva Witt Kingston. Wayne grew up and attended school in Taylor. He proudly served with the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He married Ruth Lattimer on September 6, 1953 in Elko, Nevada. Their marriage was solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple on August 18, 1972.
Wayne spent time logging in the Redwood Forest of Northern California. He worked for Utah General Depot and Hill Air Force Base as a program analyst, retiring in 1976, with over 28 years of service.
He resided in Washington Terrace for 55 years and was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in various positions including Scout Leader, Counselor in the Sunday School Presidency and Secretary in the High Priest Quorum.
Wayne was a wonderful husband and father. He enjoyed spending time with friends and had a quick wit and great sense of humor. He was a gifted mechanic, an avid hunter, fisherman and snowmobiler.
Surviving are his three daughters, Jana Rae (KC) Gerard, Idaho Falls, ID; Jillynne (Gary) Sena, Rexburg, ID; Tami Li (Todd) Nelson, Plain City; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are a sister, Beulah (Kay) Barker and two brothers, M. Ray and Ronald Kingston.
Preceding him in death were his parents, wife, sister Maxine, and brother Mark.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 2, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Thursday, April 1 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
