Wayne J. Russell

Wayne J. Russell 1930 ~ 2013 Layton, UT- Wayne J. Russell passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2013. Wayne was born on October 3, 1930 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Adam and Margret Russell. He graduated from Davis High in 1948, Weber College in 1950 and USU in 1958. He served an LDS mission in the Eastern States' returning home in 1952. Following his mission, he was active duty in the US Army from March, 1953 until December of 1954. Much of that time was spent in Europe, specifically in Germany. In 1952, he married Kathryn Burgener of Roy, UT, together they adopted two daughters. Kathryn passed away in 1965. Wayne married Patricia Burgener of Roy, UT in 1967 and had five additional children. Wayne was preceded in death by his sister Margaret Burton and his grandson Isaac Wilkerson. He is survived by his sweet wife Patricia, his children; Karen (Chad), Kristi Wilkerson (Bryan), David (Julie), Michael (Lynnette), Adam (Amanda), Angela Rands (David) and Joseph. He was also blessed with 23 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Roy City Cemetery.
