Wayne Albert Saxey
November 24, 1914 ~ June 4, 2008
Our beloved father and grandfather, Wayne Albert Saxey, returned to his Heavenly Father June 4, 2008. He was born the first of three children to Albert and Varna Saxey on November 24, 1914 in Ogden, Utah. He enjoyed a wonderful childhood in Ogden. He attended and graduated from Ogden High School.
He married his sweetheart, Maurine Harris, November 24, 1935. His marriage was solemnized in the Oakland Temple in 1972. They made their home in Clearfield, where he enjoyed working for Browning Chevrolet and the Bank of Utah for many years. They moved to California in 1960 where he worked for the Mother Lode Bank. He was a World War II veteran. His greatest joy was his children Diane, Kent and his son-in-law Bill later his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was a faithful member of the LDS Church and served as Elder''s Quorum President and other jobs in the church.
He is survived by his son Kent Harris Saxey (Judith), his son-in-law Bill Workman (Mary), his nephews J. R. Blood, John Taylor, Dennis Peterson, and Jerry Harris, his niece Valeria Harris; his sister and brother-in-law Sterling and Mildred Rose, and his long-time friend Marge Whitesides. He was the loving grandfather of Dana Bickmore (Steve), Suzanne Putnam (Byron), Curtis Workman (Cindy), Clark Saxey (Nicole), Brandt Saxey (Becky), Sasha Fenton (Ryan), and Brittney Frei (Dave). He has 29 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife Maurine, daughter Diane Workman and brother Edward Saxey.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 7, 2008 at 1 p.m. at the Holladay 25th Ward house, 4650 Naniloa Drive, Holladay. Friends and family may call Saturday from 12 noon to 12:45 p.m. at the ward house.
Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
