Wesley Hamilton Alford, Jr.

July 8, 1947 – January 15, 2017

CLEARFIELD/LAYTON- Wesley Hamilton Alford, Jr., passed away on Sunday,  January 15, 2017 in Layton, Utah.  He was born July 8, 1947 in Wake Forest, North Carolina to Wesley Hamilton and Vira Tart Alford.

Wes attended the University of North Carolina until enlisting in the Air Force on January 3, 1968.

He served in Korea, Vietnam and Thailand.  He served three tours of duty during the Vietnam War.  He was honorably discharged on June 14, 1977.  Wes met and married Diana G. Larkin on March 11, 1978 in Morgan, Utah.

Wes was a member of the American Legion, VFW, NRA, and the Swan Lakes men’s twilight association. He was an avid golfer and weapons enthusiast.  Wes loved and honored his country and was the hero of his family.  He was well loved and will be greatly missed.

Wes is survived by his loving wife of 40 years Diana, his sons; Wesley H. Alford, III, West Haven, William Nick Larkin, Clearfield, his daughter Kimberly K. Larkin, Layton., his grandchildren, Georgia Larkin, Dallas Larkin, Kiani Alford,  grandniece Angelica Torres and his sister Dolores (Glen) Scarboro of Rolesville, North Carolina.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd.  Friends may visit with family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and

Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.
