On the morning of September 14, 2013 Wicher "Vic" Bakker, 78, returned home to his loving Father in Heaven. He was born on October 31, 1934 to Albert and Frederika Haalboom Bakker.
Vic spent countless hours researching his family history and we know he is happy to be reunited with all of his ancestors. He dedicated much of his free time serving the community as a soccer coach. He loved the game and enjoyed teaching it to others.
He and his beautiful wife, Henny, served a full-time LDS mission to their homeland, The Netherlands. Together, they also served eight years as Family History missionaries. He found joy in spending time with his grandkids. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was quick to bring a smile to everyone''s faces. Vic was a wonderful example to all. He loved his family, the Gospel, and truly loved everyone he met.
Vic is survived by his wife of 56 years, Henny; children, Albert (Julie) Bakker, Roy (Lori) Bakker, Scott (Kristen) Bakker, Bryan (Daniela) Bakker, Marion (Jeffery) Allen, Linda (George) Pease, and Judy (Robert) Gayda; 25 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; two sisters, and one brother.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Kaysville 11th Ward LDS Chapel, 500 South Main Street. Family will meet with friends on Tuesday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Lindquist''s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main Street, and Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
