Wilbur L. Warn
Wilbur Lewis Warn peacefully passed away Friday, March 6, 2009.
Wilbur was born September 19, 1922 in Deer Lodge, Montana to Eldora Janette Sherburne and Lewis Maurice Warn. He graduated from Powell County High School in 1940. After graduation, he joined the Navy and served for 6 years.
He married Aletha E. Hickox on September 11, 1944. In 1948, they moved to Sahara Village, Utah (outside the Main Gate, now known as Layton) to work at Hill Air Force Base. He retired from the Base about 1977.
Wilbur and his wife, Lee, enjoyed traveling, water skiing, snow skiing and walking at the mall. He was a member of the Hill Ski Club, Good Sam’s Northern Utah Golden Spikers and the Coast Guard Auxiliary.
Surviving are his wife, and daughter Mary Aletha Kingry.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, March 11, 2009, at 2 p.m. at the Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd., South Ogden. Friends and family are very welcome to visit at the Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service.
