Wilda (Hoke) Barrus Neilson Hamblin

Wilda (Hoke) Barrus Neilson Hamblin, age 86, passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at her home.

She was born September 30, 1922 in Afton, Wyoming the daughter of Emil Andrew and Margaret Fay Barrus Neilson.

She attended Star Valley High School thru her junior year. The family moved to Salt Lake City, where she graduated from West High School.

Hoke met her Prince Charming Lloyd Richard Hamblin, while working at HAFB. They married in the Salt Lake Temple for all eternity on March 4, 1949. They were blessed with five loving children, Sherrie (Henry) Miller, Terry (Judy) Hamblin, Kerry (Karen) Hamblin, LaDawn Hamblin Koplin, 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Hoke was preceded in death by her son Roger Lynn Hamblin, parents, mother and father-in-law Peter R. and Leda Jones Hamblin, two sisters, Maxie Neilson Biehn and Donna Neilson Perry.

Hoke will be greatly missed by those of us she leaves behind but she will find great joy with those who greet her on the other side.

Hoke loved her Prince Charming with all her heart, and he took great care of her through all their years together.

Hoke always had a special place in her heart for children and animals.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 13, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends and family may call Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Syracuse City Cemetery.

We will all miss our Hokey Wolf.
