Wilda Webster Tylenda passed away peacefully March 13, 2016, at Rocky Mountain Care Center due to complications of age.
Wilda was born in Kaysville, Utah, on April 28, 1930, to Ben and Amelia Webster. She grew up attending Kaysville Elementary and graduating from Davis High School and LDS seminary in 1948. After attending Weber College and University of Southern California, she returned back to Kaysville marrying Don Yankee. They had two children Autumn and Marshall Yankee and later divorced.
Wilda moved to California and worked as an executive secretary for the Mt. Diablo Unified School District in Concord, California, for several years at the Special Education Center. Much of her life was devoted to these special needs children championing their welfare and happiness. An honorary member of Phi Delta Kappa, she received the "You Make a Difference" award from the State of California. Moving back to Kaysville, in the early 2000's Wilda lived in Layton, and St. Marks Garden in Kaysville, since 2006 where she made many close friends including Betty Goble and Donna Newton trading stories and cheering the Utah Jazz. Wilda was a member of the Kaysville 15th ward where she met Charles and Debra Nopes who attended to her needs the past few years.
Wilda was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Tylenda, her daughter, Autumn, son, Marshall, and her sister, Leola Prigmore. She is survived by her two sons Robert Tylenda of Grants Pass, Oregon, Howard Tylenda of Ogden, Utah, seven grandchildren, and two great grandchildren and several nieces.
The family wishes to thank Rocky Mountain Care and Hospice for their loving care and
kindness to Wilda.
Graveside services will be held Friday, March 18, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Kaysville City Cemetery, 500 E. Crestwood Road.
