WILFORD FREDERICK BOREN
1934-2014
Beloved husband, father, brother and friend, Wilford F. Boren, died June 2, 2014 with his family around him. He was born October 20, 1934 in Salt Lake City Utah, the first son of Wilford Friedrick and Louise Rueckert Boren.
Wilford grew up in Springville Utah with his brother and three sisters and later lived in Salt Lake City. He married Carma Marion Woolfenden September 9, 1955 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was active all his life and enjoyed skiing, scuba diving, fishing and walking, and was known for rough-housing with his boys when they were young.
Wilford was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and died true to the faith that he loved. He devoted his life to service in the Church, in many positions of influence and responsibility, and served four missions with his sweetheart: Washington D.C. CES; Lagos Portugal; Ogden Utah; and the Family History Library in SLC.
Wilford is survived by Carma, his wife of 58 years; his sons Wilford Chris (Linda) Boren; Kim Frederick (Julie) Boren; Dean Grant (Natasha) Boren and Dale Warner (Stephanie) Boren; and his loving daughter Wendy (John) Paul, as well as 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his loving siblings Emma (Robert) Harris; Arlene (Louis) Grandstaff; Ralph (Margene) Boren and Beverly (Darrell) Bowen and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his twin sister, and two of his brothers-in-law.
Funeral services will be held at the Chase Lane LDS Chapel at 1125 North 400 West in Centerville on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 11:00 am. Friends may call Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary at 727 North 400 East in Bountiful, or Saturday morning at the Chase Lane LDS Chapel from 9:45 to 10:45 am.
