Wilford Merlin “Bud” Jackson

July 12, 1925 ~ May 20, 2015

Our loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away peacefully at the age of 89 on May 20, 2015.  Bud was born to Merle and Rosina Jackson on July 12, 1925 in Farr West, Utah.

He married Hazel Bird on May 14, 1949 in Ogden, Utah and has been her faithful companion for over 66 years.  They had three daughters.

Bud honorably served his country and was wounded in Germany during WWII, receiving the purple heart.  He worked to support his family at DDO for 38 years.

He loved his retirement and spending time with his wife and children.  He traveled to many wonderful places with them.

He was an avid baseball fan and has been a longtime season ticket holder with the Ogden Raptor Baseball team for over 20 years.

He was a member of the Wilson 1 st Ward.

Bud is survived by his loving wife, Hazel; three daughters, Kathie (Mike) Abbott, Paula (Brent) Gill, and Pat (Neil) Davis; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, and one sister, Norma Linder.  He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Edna Black Thomas; brother, Delmore Jackson; and one grandson, Travis Brent Gill.
