Willard “Woody” George Glissmeyer Willard “Woody” George Glissmeyer passed away on January 6, 2013 at McKay Dee Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born August 5, 1935 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Gordon George and Fern Johnson Glissmeyer. The family moved to North Ogden in 1949 and Willard graduated from Weber High School. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Willard married Nancy Greenwell on July 27, 1956 in the Logan LDS Temple. Willard was an Eagle Scout and earned this at age 13. Willard served in many callings within the church, which brought him much joy including serving as Stake Missionary, High Councilman, Counselor in the Bishopric, and as Bishop. He was Executive Secretary and enjoyed serving with his wife as a missionary for the LDS Church Employment. In 1949 he started working at Glissmeyer OK Tire Store with his father on Saturdays and during the summer. In 1970 he bought the store, and continued to work there for a total of 52 years. He loved hunting and owned hunting property on Monte Cristo at one time with some of his best friends. His greatest loves were his family and his faith. Willard is survived by his wife, Nancy; four daughters, Heidi Christensen, St. George; Dana (Brad) Hoskins, North Ogden; Jill (Jay) Johnson, North Ogden; and Staci (Rich) Johnston, Ogden; 5 grandchildren, Colby (Madeline) Hoskins, Cassie and Jared Johnson, McCall Montgomery and Maddison Johnston; great-grandchild, Kody Montgomery; and brother, Floyd (Connie) Glissmeyer, Redding, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, and 5 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Ben Lomond 12th Ward, 3610 North 650 East, North Ogden. Friends may visit with family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd., and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. The family wishes to thank Pineview Trans. Rehab for all their kindness these past 6 weeks.
