William Val Biesinger, 86, passed away December 11, 2015 in Salt Lake City. He was born February 14, 1929, the son of Herbert William Biesinger and Margaret Taylor Biesinger.
Val served an LDS mission to Australia from September 1949 to September 1951. He married Marilyn Joyce Croxford, on May 27, 1952 in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they had six children, Karl (Annette) Biesinger, Kent (Joan) Biesinger, Herb (Barbara) Biesinger, Marival (Rob) Tanner, Taz (Anne) Biesinger, Josh (Christina) Biesinger. They resided in Bountiful and later divorced.
He graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Sociology in 1954. He served honorably in the Air Force at Edwards Air Force Base in California as 1st Lieutenant, 1954 to 1955. He had a successful construction business where he built many homes and commercial buildings. He also had a successful insurance business.
Val enjoyed the theater, both as an actor and a spectator. He was part of Toastmaster for many years where he developed a talent for speaking.
His family was very important to him. He taught his children to enjoy the world through travel and boating. He traveled worldwide including 19 cruises. He coached his five sons' baseball teams for many years and they also went on countless fishing and hunting trips. He liked to hike and play racquetball with his daughter, and he took his father bowling every week.
Val was an Eagle Scout, his five sons and his grandsons were all Eagle Scouts. He served as a host at the LDS Church Conference Center in Salt Lake City for many years. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints his whole life.
He married Kathy Holt Tamietti in 1988, later divorced. Also married Jannett Stone in 2004, later divorced.
Val is survived by four brothers, Taylor, Ralph, Alma, Clyde and two sisters, Gayle Fawson and Margaret Killam. He is also survived by his six children, 25 grandchildren , 57 great grandchildren, and his good friend Joan Johnson Jensen. Preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Phil and Thomas and a sister, Donna McKay.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, December 17, 2015 at the LDS Church on 300 North Main in Farmington. Friends may visit family Wednesday, December 16th from 6-8 pm at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. and Thurs. from 9:30-10:30 am at the church prior to services. Interment Elysian Gardens, Salt Lake City.
