William Stewart Glenn
2/19/1931 – 10/26/2017
Stewart, a devoted husband, father and grandfather, peacefully rejoined his Heavenly Father on October 26, 2017. He was 86.
He was the fourth surviving child of Olive and William Glenn, and the first of Olive’s children to be born in a hospital, in Cardston, Alberta, Canada. The family moved to Logan, Utah when he was six, where he was raised in a close-knit immediate and extended family.
After earning his bachelor’s degree in business from Utah State University, Stewart joined the Army in 1950; he served as a paratrooper and learned to fly airplanes and helicopters, earning his commercial pilot’s license. While stationed at Fort Ord in Monterey, CA, Stewart met Edythe Greaves from Portland, OR and they were married in the Salt Lake Temple on August 9, 1957.
Stewart worked as an air traffic controller for the FAA in Salt Lake Air Route Center for over 27 years before retiring in 1985. After retirement, he drove a special needs school bus in Bountiful for many years. When the Bountiful Temple was completed in 1995, he became a temple worker. Stewart and Edythe lived in Bountiful for over 55 years, recently moving to American Fork to be closer to their daughter.
He leaves behind his beloved Edythe and brother, Kay. Stewart was a devoted father to his children: Timothy (Teresa Hayes) of Heber City, Daniel (Diana Bond) of Yucaipa, CA, and Brooks (Michael Wynn) of American Fork. He was grandfather to 13 and great-grandfather to seven. We trust there is a happy reunion of many dear relatives and friends in Heaven welcoming Stewart home.
