William “Bill” Hurst, Jr.

July 24, 1936 ~ October 20, 2014

William Hurst, Jr., 78, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 20, 2014.  He was born on July 24, 1936 in Ogden, Utah, the son of William Sr. and Pearl Charlotte Lorence Hurst.  He grew up in the Ogden area and graduated from Ogden High School.

He served in the Army during the Korean conflict as a Private First Class.

Bill married Sharon R. Wood on September 20, 1973 in Clearfield, Utah.

He took pleasure in watching the Denver Broncos and Utah Jazz.  Bill enjoyed volunteering at the Ogden Police Department and Davis Hospital.  He also enjoyed bowling.  He was a member of the Elks.

Bill is survived by his wife, Sharon, Clinton; daughters, Ellen (Mark) Blakley, Roy and Kelly Wilkinson, Ogden; seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, brother, Robert (Jan) Hurst, Auroa, CO; and sisters, Mary England and Ilene Bright, Ogden; and Colene (Bob) Makela, Villages, FL.

He was preceded in death by his son, Scott; parents, and brothers-in-law, Junior and Bill.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 24, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.  Friends may visit family on Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.  Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd.
