LAYTON a€" William A. Kiernan, 63, passed away Friday, January 21, 2011 at McKay-Dee Hospital.

He was born May 27, 1947 in Modesto, California the son of William Joseph and Mary Westbrook Kiernan.

Bill grew up in Modesto, California and served Vietnam in the Army.

Bill married Sylvia on September 16, 2005 in Perry, Utah.

He worked for Norbest as a District Sales Manager and retired after 30 plus years of service.

He was a non-denominational Christian.

In his earlier years Bill loved to camp and fish.

Surviving are his wife Sylvia, Layton; son Kevin Ian (Tracy) Kiernan, West Jordan; step-son, Michael T. (Susan) Parry, step-daughters, Tiffany (John) Taurone, Tamara Bates, Kelli (Ben) Jensen, 15 grandchildren, father, William Joseph Kiernan, sisters, Mary (Bob) McCabe and Jan (David) Walter.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family on Tuesday from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
