William Marcus Leatherwood, 54, passed away Friday, September 28, 2012 at his home, after battling cancer.
He was born September 4, 1958 in Ogden, Utah to William Elmo and Kathleen Tracy Leatherwood. He was raised and educated in Ogden. He also lived in Tacoma, Washington for four years and Dallas, Texas for four years.
Bill served his country in the U.S. Army, from March 1976 to December 1978, during the Vietnam War.
On January 8, 1988, Bill married Marilyn Amanda Forsgren-West in Ogden, Utah.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Bill was employed at Autoliv as a production line coordinator, as an NDT/NDI Inspector at Williams International Inc. and as a machinist for Janicki Industries Inc.
He enjoyed bowling, fishing, camping and loved watching M*A*S*H and the Dallas Cowboys.
Bill will be remembered most for being a truly best friend and loving son, husband, father and grandfather. He was a one-of-a-kind Dad- the coolest! Bill never complained about anything.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn; two sons, Marcus A. Leatherwood and Christopher S. Leatherwood, both of West Point; a daughter, Kacy Leatherwood, Puyallup, WA; two grandchildren; his mother and step-father, Kathleen and Brent Stoddard; step-mother, Connie; his siblings, Troy M. Leatherwood, Bradley A. Stoddard, Troy B. Stoddard, Dustin Pollock, Travis Pollock, Tracy M. Perry, Stephanie Stoddard; grandparents, Birdie and Wendell Covert; and Howard and Ann Stoddard. He was preceded in death by his father, William, brother, Lanny M. Leatherwood, grandparents, William W. Tracy, William J. Leatherwood, Robert B. Lindley, Irene W. Lindley, Mary Leatherwood, an uncle, Gary Tracy, Sr., parents-in-law, Wallace E. and Ella L. Harris Forsgren, and brothers-in-law, Wayne Forsgren, Dennis R. Forsgren and Gordon Winter.
The family would like to thank Vistacare Hospice for their tender and loving care.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 4th at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.
The family will meet with friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, West Point Cemetery, where Military Honors will be accorded by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
