William “Bill” A. Lee
OGDEN – William “Bill” A. Lee, 88, of Ogden, Utah, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on Saturday, May 15, 2010 with his family around him. He was born on December 29, 1921 in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania and was the son of Harry Martin Lee and Marjorie Allen Lee.
Bill graduated from Weber Junior College in June 1948 and the University of Utah in August 1949. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. As a Captain, Bill served as a Navigator in the 5th Air Force on a B-24 during WWII and was assigned to the 481st Aerial Resupply and Communication Wing during Korea on a C-119.
Bill married Beverly Andrews of Ogden on May 10, 1949 and they recently celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary. Bill was preceded in death by his mother and father, one sister Nancy L. Becker (John) and one grandson T.J. (Michelle) Coroles. He is survived by his loving wife Beverly, their three children Sandy (Tom) Coroles of Ogden; Marty Lee of Ogden; and Karen Lee (Smitty) of Lakewood, Colorado. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jennifer (Chris); Kelly (Andrea); Eric, Coree; Jayson; Kadyn; Taylor (Derek), Rose, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
In 1960 Bill and his family returned to Utah from Dayton, Ohio, where he worked at Hill Air Force Base as the Chief of Pricing and Negotiation Division in the Procurement Directorate. He was instrumental in the successful negotiations of the Minute Man Missile Program. After retirement, Bill successfully sold real estate in the Ogden area and also achieved his real estate broker’s license in 1987.
Bill was a Master Mason of the Unity Lodge #18 since 1972, a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of the Elks, Golden Spike Lodge No. 719, and a member of the American Legion.
One of his most favorite hobbies was fishing with his grandsons at Willard Bay and Causey Dam. He was an avid reader and especially enjoyed stories about the Civil War and the Pacific Arena of WWII.

Family services were held at the graveside on May 20, 2010.
