William Lloyd Royle, age 85, born on December 1, 1937, in Ogden, Utah, passed away quietly at his Clearfield home in his sleep on December 12, 2022.
“Bill” as he was known to his friends and family was a Marine Corp Veteran, and also served his country in the US Naval Reserves. After spending over 11 years in the Marine Corp, he returned to Utah and studied at Weber State College and spent the rest of his
career as a civilian mechanic at Hill Air Force Base, repairing USAF F4 fighter jets. During the Vietnam War, he volunteered to serve our country repairing USAF F4 fighter jets in Vietnam, Thailand, and the Philippines.
Bill loved to fish and always had his boat ready for the next catch of the day. He also was an avid skeet shooter, having competed locally and in state-wide Utah Skeet tournaments.
Bill was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia McGahan, and subsequent wife, Gail Storey Royle. He is survived by his three children, Anthony Royle, Carol Royle-Burch, and David Royle; his grandchildren, Nicholas Royle, Elizabeth Royle Sikora, Michael Royle, and Jeromie Blackowski; great-grandchildren, Austin Royle, Kayla Royle, Jadon Sikora, Jace Sikora, and Jackson Sikora.
As per Bill’s wishes, there will be a small family graveside service and interment at the Syracuse City Cemetery in the spring
