William Andrew Montoya
10/01/08 – 5/14/16
Our sweet William left this earth and ran into the arms of His Savior Jesus Christ and best friend and sister, Leah on Saturday, May 14, 2016. William came into this world with his brother, and two sisters on a beautiful Wednesday morning and began his miraculous life of defying all the odds and going against what all the doctors told us he would do. He was born as one of four, quadruplets, and had a rare Chromosome deletion called 1P36 Deletion Syndrome. His life was in the hands of his Father in Heaven and we never imagined we would get 2, 690 blessed days with him. The lives he touched and the lessons and love he taught were many and widespread.
William was a perfect spirit in a broken body but he was full of life and love. He loved his brothers and sisters and had a very special and close relationship with both sets of Grandparents. We are so grateful to his Grandpa Montoya who visited him almost every single day since Leah died. His favorite thing to do was watch TV and watching Mickey Mouse and the Minions could ALWAYS get a laugh and I think brought him the most joy. He suffered many days filled with physical pain but he showed great courage and forgiveness to everyone who was trying to care for him. He was so quick to reach for your cheek and just wanted to touch you while he watched his movies and know that you were there with him.
He is survived by his parents, Jared and Amy Montoya of Layton, his siblings, Caleb (Kadee) Arave, Elizabeth, Joseph, and Sarah Montoya. Also survived by his grandparents and namesake William R. and Athleen Moss, George and Blanca Montoya, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his quadruplet sister, Leah Athleen Montoya.
Our hearts cannot express fully the gratitude and love we feel for all of our family members that have gone on this eight year journey with us. We would like to thank all of his doctors, nurses, and therapists who took such loving care of him at South Davis Community Hospital and Primary Children’s Hospital. We would also like to thank his dedicated and loving teachers and therapists at Windridge Elementary. And a Special thanks to all of the LDS Church Members of the Layton West Stake and the Layton Hills Stake for their years of prayers, love and support for our family and his well-being.
We will miss you so much William but we can hear you say, just as Paul “I have fought the good fight. I have finished my course and I have kept the Faith.”
Now GO William, hand in hand with Leah, and Run, Jump, Talk, Laugh, Play, Teach, and Preach until we meet again. You are finally FREE! We love You with All our Hearts!
