William Roberts

WILLIAM REED ROBERTS

1923-2018

On January 31, 2018 our beloved father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather was reunited with his sweetheart Mary Ellen, to continue their eternal journey together.  He has born January 22, 1923 in Salt Lake City, Utah to William F. Roberts and Olive B. Roberts.

Dad attended East High School.  Later he joined the Air Force where he became a Flight Engineer, flying the B29 bomber in World War II.  He loved to hunt and fish and was an avid outdoorsman.

He married Mary Ellen Windham on July 28, 1945 in San Antonio, Texas.  They were sealed later in the Salt Lake Temple.  He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Later in his life, Dad and Mom served several missions together.  Dad worked as a barber with his father for nine years before retiring after 28 years of employment at Hill Air Force Base as an Electronic Engineer.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Ellen and his little brother Thomas. He is survived by his sister, Noma Kjar and his five children; Sandra (Brent), Caren (Bruce), Reg (Debbie), Amy, Megan (Gary); 20 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.  He loved his family very much.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Bountiful Lindquist’s Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. (Orchard Drive).  Family and friends may visit Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. and from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the services at the mortuary on Tuesday.  Interment Bountiful City Cemetery.  Condolences may be shared at www.lindquistmortuary.com
