William Hoyle Roberts

LAYTON a€" William Hoyle Roberts, 74, passed away Friday, November 18, 2011. He was born to Sterling and Lorena Coons Roberts in Leicester, North Carolina on April 13, 1937. He married Elizabeth Crosby and they became the parents of two sons, Heath and Paul. They later divorced. He married Christine Tyll and they were later divorced.

William served his country in the United States Air Force and lived throughout the world, including France, England, Korea, North Carolina, California, Colorado, and Utah. He was a member of the American Legion.

He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He also enjoyed bowling, playing horseshoes and pool, and fishing. He was a member of the Baptist Church.

William is survived by his sons Heath (Claire), Paul (Sylvia), and six grandchildren. Surviving also are his sisters Latiece Eggelston, Wanda Butler, and Lisa Allen, and brother Carl Roberts. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Vaniece. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, where military honors will be accorded.
