LAYTON a€" Our loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, William Blaine Rogers, 81, passed away Saturday, February 19, 2011 in his home.

Bill was born December 13, 1929 in Preston, Idaho to Raley Slaten and Julia Fellows Rogers. He grew up in Cache Valley and attended North Cache High School. Bill married his eternal sweetheart, Pauline Lemon, on November 28, 1951 in the Logan Utah LDS Temple. He always said he "married a lemon but found his peach". They were blessed with five children.

Bill is survived by his wife Pauline; children, William Gary Rogers (Debbie), Cindy Kenley (Rick), Paula Copps (Richard), Suzanne Gnehm (Brian), and Steven Blaine Rogers (Brandiann); sixteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and sister Joan Lewis.

Bill was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in various church callings, including a member of the Bishopric, High Priest Group Leader and Elders Quorum President.

Bill served in the United States Navy from 1948 to 1952 and was honorably discharged. He retired from Hill Air Force Base after 36 years. He was also employed with the Davis County School District as a school bus driver. He and his wife served an LDS mission at the Layton Employment Center for one year and then continued working there another five years. Bill enjoyed the outdoors, camping, hunting, fishing, golfing and especially playing games and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Weldon Raley Rogers, Joe Benson Rogers, Lurain Doty, and Larue Hawes.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Vae View Ward Chapel, 1715 W. 1600 N., Layton. Friends and family may visit Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary. 1867 N. Fairfield Rd., and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church prior to the service.

Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 N. Fairfield Road.
