William Eugene “Gene” Stam

William Eugene Stam also known as Gene passed away at Ogden Regional Hospital on December 7, 2015 at 4:54 p.m. Gene was born on May 8, 1965 in Eugene, Oregon and grew up in the Ogden area. He attended Bonneville High School and received his Sheet Metal Apprenticeship from ATC. He worked as a trailer builder at Wells Cargo for 17 years.
Gene met his wife Selena Roxanne Malan in 1985. They were married in 1990 and had three children. They later separated, but remained great friends.
He loved to play the drums and played for several years in the band XYZ. He also played softball and was on a bowling league. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and drawing.
Gene is survived by his wife, Selena Stam; children, Melanie, Chad, and Melissa; grandchildren, Charlie, Graysen, and Ayvin; his mom, Diana Wardleigh Stam; his aunt, Elaine Brown; his sisters, Renee (Don) Barnes, Shelley Stam, and Julie (Kelly) Wright; his brother, Doug Stam; and special friend, Sherry Witherby. He was preceded in death by his father, Douglas; brother, Jess Hemminger; grandparents, Cecil and Myrtle Wardleigh and William and Josephine Stam; and uncle, Robert Wardleigh;
Graveside services will be held on Monday, December 14, 2015 at 3 p.m. at Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd. Friends may visit with family on Monday from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
