William Angus Stevens (Bill)

William Angus Stevens (Bill), was born on January 20, 1944 to Angus and Lona Wiseman Stevens in Salt Lake City, and was reared in Clearfield, Utah. He was a great example of keeping a positive attitude, even when faced with a difficult trial. He battled MS for many years and suddenly passed on Thursday, November 11, 2010.

Bill was so proud of his children and grandchildren and often bragged about them. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed farming, camping, skiing, bowling and fishing during his active years. In his younger years he raised homing pigeons and when he was older enjoyed bird watching. He loved to talk about the good times he had spent on the ranch both in Clearfield and in Declo, Idaho.

He loved to share many good memories of running the Stevens Canning Co. in Roy, UT with his brother Donald. He always cherished the memories he had working with his father in the Ogden Cannery in his early years.

Bill served a mission to Auckland, New Zealand and cherished the memories of the land and its people. He attended Weber State University where he met his wife Jeanne L. Sylvester. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on October 13, 1967 and sealed for time and all eternity.

Bill was an active member of the West Point 5th Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many positions in his ward and stake. He served as a counselor in two bishoprics and also as a ward clerk.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, and a son-in-law, Adam Wilson. Bill is survived by his wife Jeanne, sons Douglas Stevens, Gary Stevens(Stacy), daughters Christine Stauffer (Scott), Natalie Wilson, and 11 grandchildren.

Bill will be greatly missed by his family, friends and neighbor children whom he loved dearly.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the West Point 5th Ward, 3488 W. 300 No. Friends may visit family Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
