William Karl Stitt

July 15, 1934 ~ March 23, 2017

William Karl Stitt passed away at home on March 23, 2017 in Ogden, Utah.  He was born in Ogden on July 15, 1934 to William and Catherine Stitt.  He is survived by his children, Pamela Nelsen (Randy), Vicki Sparks, Joan Stevenson, Tim Stitt, Ryan Stitt and son-in-law, Darren Earl.  He is also survived by siblings, Don Stitt (Lavonda), Myrlene Hubble, and Kevin Stitt and in-laws, Bryce Dover (Betty), Sharol Burnett (George), Carol Larkin, Billie Carr (Larry), and Gordon Owen (Ann); several nieces and nephews, 16 grandkids, 28 great-grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Hill and Catherine Cook Stitt; his in-laws, William Lavon and May Jensen Owen; his stepmother, Wilma Christiansen Stitt Wilde; siblings, Sharon Weaver (Morrell), Gladys Dover, Calvin Leroy Hubble, and Paul Stitt; the love of his life and wife for 64 years, Bonnie Jean Owen Stitt; daughter, Kristine Earl; son-in-law, Gary Sparks; and grandson, Jonathon Nelsen.

Before retiring, Bill worked for the American Can Company and held several part time jobs to help raise his six children.  In his spare time, he loved to take his family camping, bowl, and whatever sport was in season at the time.  He loved to tease, tell funny stories, and enjoyed the reaction.  He will be missed by all that knew and loved him and is reunited with his princess.

A celebration of life is being planned to be held on his birthday, July 15th.
