William Gerald “Jerry” Vandehei, 73, died Thursday, January 24, 2008 at Ogden Regional Hospital.
He was born October 13, 1934 in Ogden to Jerry and Thelma Delores McMillan Vandehei. He lived in Seattle, WA, Santa Rosa, CA and mostly Roy, UT.
On April 22, 1955, Jerry married Eileen Hansen in Brigham City. Eileen preceded him in death on March 11, 2004.
He was employed as an electronic engineer and owned and operated a Tru-Value Hardware store in Farmington.
Jerry enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. He was an avid Utah Jazz fan.
Jerry is survived by two sons, James (Barbara) Vandehei, Ivoryton, CT; Jason (Crystal) Vandehei, North Ogden; a daughter, Janell Ritter, Roy; six grandchildren, Janette, Jaime, Janea, Ryan, Taelor and Monica; and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Jack Vandehei, Ogden; and two sisters, Julie Wadsworth and Janeen Donnell, both of Phoenix, AZ.
He was preceded in death by his wife, a son, Jeffery, a daughter, Jereen, his parents, and a sister, Janis Rannigan.
Memorial services will be held Monday, January 28th at 11 a.m. at the Roy North Park Ward Chapel, 4250 South 2175 West.
Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd., at a later date.
