CLEARFIELD a€" William E. (Bill) Wade, quietly passed away at his home on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 after losing his battle with cancer. Bill died as he lived with quiet dignity with presence of family.

He was born March 19, 1930 to John Ernest and Lena Thorpe Wade in Salt Lake City.

Bill met his sweetheart Erma Mikesell at a church dance and they were later married on July 21, 1956. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on December 3, 1963. He was a faithful member of the LDS Church and served in various callings including a mission.

Bill enjoyed the outdoors with his family. He was a game warden and hunter education instructor while working at HAFB for over 20 years and then with the AFGE as a National Representative for 22 years.

To Papa, as he was affectionately called by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, we love you and will miss you. Till we meet again.

Survived by his wife of 53 years, daughter Terri Lynn (Michael) Hurst, son Jeffery B. (Michelle) Wade, four grandchildren, Melonie Hurst, Joshua Hurst, Rebecca Price and Damon J. Wade, three great-grandchildren, Avery, Taniya and Elizabeth.

Preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter Vickie Ann Wade and brother John Henry Wade.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 8, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Clearfield 7th Ward, 300 No. 231 E. Friends and family may call Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Clearfield Mortuary, 1050 South State Street and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Clearfield City Cemetery.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Pineview Rehabilitation, Avants Home Care, Vista Care Hospice and all of those who tenderly cared for Bill over the past year.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that you donate to the LDS Missionary Fund or a charity of your choice.
