William Wayne Winder

William Wayne Winder, 84, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on October 30, 2007.

He was born on January 17, 1923 in Monteview, Idaho to Thomas Harrison and Dorbuary Jane Winder. He grew up in Idaho and moved to Ogden in 1951, where he has lived the last 56 years. Wayne married Jane Bullock on June 25, 1952. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple.

Wayne served in the Army Air force during WW II as an aircraft mechanic. He worked until his retirement as an airplane mechanic at Hill AFB.

He was active in the LDS Church and with Jane served a mission in the Ogden''s Visitor''s Center. He enjoyed doing Temple work.

Wayne loved to read, and he spent many hours doing scroll woodworking, making clocks and other items. He enjoyed spending time at the North Ogden Senior''s Center and having lunch at Acres Market.

He is survived by one son and two daughters, Timothy Wayne (Cindy) Winder, Granite Falls, WA; Sharon (Wayne) Pike, No. Ogden; Carolyn (Brent) Judkins, Plain City; eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters, Thelma Moody, Pauline Phipps, Vergie David, Pat (Frank) Tolman.

Preceding him in death were his parents and his lovely wife, three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 3rd at 2:00 p.m. at Plain City Stake Center, 4630 West 2150 North.

Friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd, and Saturday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the Church.
