William Robert “Bob” Parmley & Reta Price Parmley

September 11, 1918 ~ July 13, 2008 & June 5, 1919 ~ November 7, 2015

William Robert “Bob” Parmley, 89, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2008.  He was born on September 11, 1918 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the son of William V. Parmley and Alice Florence Larson.  His father died when he was an infant.  His mother later married Whitmer (Whit) Andrew Rosquist, who was a loving step-father.  He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Grace Berg and Beth Paschall; and brother, Dr. Lamar Rosquist.

Reta Price Parmley, 96, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2015.  She was born on June 5, 1919 in Evanston, Wyoming, the daughter of Ezra L. and Alzina Tingey Price.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Bob; parents; two brothers, Wesley Price and Thomas Price; and three sisters, Anne Black, Bernice Narramore, and Ruth Smith.

Bob and Reta became sweethearts while Bob was attending the University of Utah and Reta was attending Henegar Business School.  The couple married on June 22, 1940 in Coalville, Utah.  They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on May 14, 1941.  They enjoyed dancing, skiing, and flying – with each having attained their pilot’s license.  Bob worked as a locomotive engineer for the Union Pacific Railroad and retired in 1983 after 43 years of service.  Reta worked as a stenographer until they started a family – then family and home became her primary focus.  She faithfully served in numerous Primary and Relief Society callings and enjoyed her friendships and memberships in DUP and the UP Railroaders Auxiliary.

Bob and Reta are survived by their daughters, Linda (Matthew) Knape and Tina (Brian) Wright.

A Memorial Service will be held for both Bob and Reta on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.  Friends may visit family on Saturday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary.
