Willis John Earl
CLEARFIELD - Willis John Earl returned to his Heavenly Father Friday, February 20, 2009, surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 8, 1933 in Cardston, Alberta, Canada, to George Albert and Bernice Caroline Earl.
Willis joined the Army and proudly served his country in the Korean War.
On January 10, 1952, he married his sweetheart, Norine Johnson. That union was later solemnized in the Logan Temple. They just celebrated their 57th anniversary. They were very devoted to each other. Willis put his precious wife before anything. As a member of the Clearfield 2nd Ward, Willis held many callings and loved serving others.
He was a manufacturing engineer and really enjoyed his work.
Willis is survived by his loving wife, Norine; daughter, Trudy (Rod) Rhoades, Roy; and two sons, Dennis (Paula) Earl, Hooper; and Ray (Julie) Earl, Perry; eight grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Vickie; grandson, Shane; his parents, two sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 26, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends and family may pay their respects on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
