Wilma Deane Bray
OGDEN a" Wilma Deane Bray, 78, died Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at her daughter''s residence in Fruit Heights.
She was born April 25, 1933 in Santaquin, Utah, a daughter of Thomas Brigham and Mary Ivine Ashby Smith.
She attended the U of U and lived in the Beehive House, which at the time was a boarding house for girls.
Wilma Deane married Alfred LeVar Bray on June 18, 1953 in the Manti LDS Temple. They were married for just over 50 years before his death on April 4, 2005.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Her favorite calling was serving in the Primary. She especially loved singing in the Ward Choir and Visiting Teaching. She served many faithful hours of service in the Bishop''s Store House.
Wilma Deane was involved with the Primary Children''s Hospital Campaign "Pennies by the Inch" for over 15 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Her love was sewing and machine embroidery, which she worked on daily giving items to those she loved. She made celebrating birthdays especially fun by designing and making character cakes for family and friends. The family wishes to thank friends and neighbors for the love and care of Wilma.
She is survived by "Her Ten Most Wanted", Kim (Helen) Bray, Layton; Micheal (Amy) Bray, Henderson, NV; Joanna (Dave) Furuta, Tooele, UT; Jeanette Bray, Castledale, UT; "Liz" Elizabeth (Dean) Barnett, Farr West; Kathy (Brian) Mills, Fruit Heights, UT; Thomas (Nicki) Bray, North Ogden, UT; Maria (Brent) Casselman, Blackfoot, ID; Ellen (Allen) Gunter, North Ogden; John (Carol) Bray, Pocatello, ID; 44 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are one brother Milton Smith, Santaquin, UT; and one sister, Elveda Smith, San Jose, CA.
Preceding Wilma Deane in death were her husband, her parents, one brother Laurence, one sister Sharlene, and one granddaughter Crystal.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Rock Cliff 3rd Ward Chapel, 2nd Street and Porter Avenue.
Family will meet with friends at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday at the Ward Chapel from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Santaquin City Cemetery.
She will be missed by all who knew her, and although we feel she left us too soon, she had a full life. Her words to us at this time would be, "Choose the Right and Remember Who You Are".
