Wilma Jessie Fuhriman Butler, 89, passed away peacefully early November 25, 2023.
She was born June 9, 1934 in Kuna, Idaho to Horace Edgar Fuhriman and Jessie Dorothy Olsen Fuhriman, the oldest of eight children. She met her sweetheart Merlin in Sunday School and they were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Like Temple on February 18, 1952. The two of them raised four children and played integral roles in their grandchildren’s lives.
Wilma loved her family deeply. She was quiet, yet eager to serve and create lifelong relationships. She looked forward to visits from family and loved watching her loved ones grow and learn in this life. Wilma was an incredibly talented woman and often would create keepsakes for loved ones. She had a stunning green thumb and immaculate flower beds.
Wilma loved preserving foods while teaching her posterity how to do it. Everyone looked forward to her meals which always included delicious treats and all the food groups. Wilma led by example and always lived what she believed. She served in several callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, sharing her talents with others. One of her favorite callings was Ward and Stake Librarian where she created materials to aide families and teachers in sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Wilma is survived by her three children, Pamela Butler (Jeff) Macfarlane, Ann Butler (Richard) Packard, Brian Wayne (Marilyn) Butler, eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her sweetheart, Merlin Butler and one son Andy King Butler.
