Woodrow “Woody” William Pilcher
KAYSVILLE – Woodrow “Woody” William Pilcher died April 17, 2012 of causes related to Alzheimer’s type dementia.
Woody was born September 30, 1916, at home near Mancos, Colorado in LaPlata County to Frank and Elsie Pilcher.
He is survived by his sweetheart of 70 years, Nellie and three children: Patricia Lee (Edward) of Kaysville; Russell Pilcher, (Caroll) and William “Bill” F. Pilcher (Denyce Verti) both of Caldwell, Idaho; 11 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Woody served in World War II in North Africa and Anzio. After retiring from HAFB, he spent countless hours delivering Meals on Wheels from Autumn Glow Senior Center. He was honored as Kaysville City’s “Unsung Hero” and Davis County for his many hours of volunteer work. Woody and Nellie were also honored on September 30, 2011 by proclamation from Kaysville City and Autumn Glow for their joint birthdays and anniversary.
Woody will be remembered for his beautiful and immaculate yard and garden.
Woody’s family would like to thank Rocky Mountain Hospice, North Canyon Care Center and Lakeview Hospital for their loving care.
There will be no services held per family request. A “Celebration of Life” will be held at a later date.
