With profound sadness we announce the passing of Cindy, our loving and devoted mother and friend to all whose lives she touched.
She left us peacefully on December 20, 2018 surrounded by her two daughters and team of nurses and CNA’s that have cared for her over the last four and half years.
Born in Taichung, Taiwan, she witnessed incredible changes to her world, she immigrated to America in 1968, and became an American citizen to live out her dreams. Additionally, she was a huge advocate of the American military.
She was the beloved mother of May-Lin (Marc) and Rhiana (Scott).
Cindy lived a full life as a wonderful mother, homemaker, wife, friend, and dedicated worker at the NCO Club on Hill Air Force Base and the Mandarin Palace Restaurant in Layton, Utah.
She was always known for her gentle spirit, optimism, sincere care and consideration of others first. She loved to cook, kept an immaculate house, was highly skilled with gardening and loved those trips to Wendover, Nevada.
Most of all she loved her family and instilled in her daughters’ strong values and higher education that have served them well. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
She is survived by three brothers and two sisters in Taiwan and her two daughters, May-Lin and Rhiana, and their rocks in life, Marc and Scott.
In 2011, Cindy was diagnosed with a progressive neurodegenerative disorder called Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) and unless you knew mom before the illness you really can’t understand how sad this really was to see her slowly degrade in health.
Her family wishes to thank all the staff at Rocky Mountain Skilled Nursing and Rocky Mountain Hospice for their loving care. We love you Randi, Sara, Raelynn, Chaplain Kim, Alexa, Heather, Kelly, Morgan, Wynona, Zach, and Mara.
A celebration of Cindy’s life will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road, Layton, Utah 84041.
