Yukiko “Yuki” Fujita Kawaguchi

Yukiko “Yuki” Fujita Kawaguchi, 94, passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2019. She was born on December 3, 1924 in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of Chohachi Fujita and Tome Kawaguchi. She grew up in Ogden and graduated from Davis High School.
She was a member of the Buddhist Church, BWA, and Kenjinkai.
Yuki married Hideo Kawaguchi on February 28, 1945 in Ogden, Utah. Hideo passed away on December 19, 1989.
She worked as an Electronic Technician at Hill Air Force Base for 22 years. She was also a farmer for her whole life.
Yuki enjoyed crocheting, quilting, sewing, crafts, bunka, puzzles, reading, and gardening. She also enjoyed traveling, watching the Jazz, and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events.
Yuki is survived by her sons, Steve (Debra) Kawaguchi of Sunset, UT; Greg Kawaguchi of Sebastolpol, CA; and Curtis (Vicky) Kawaguchi of Roy; daughters, Gwen Kubota of Colton, CA; Barbara Kawaguchi of Washington, UT; and Kim Wempe of El Paso, TX; 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Jun Fujita of Las Vegas, NV. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hideo; daughter, Vivian; parents, Chohachi and Tome Fujita; and sisters, Hanako, Kazuko, and Misa.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 1, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Ogden Buddhist Church, 155 North St. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Interment, Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 WAshington
