1947 ~ 2018

On February 1, 2018, Yvonne Chandler DeRyke returned to her Heavenly Father, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Yvonne was born in Pocatello, Idaho, September 13, 1947, to Foster R. and Faye Stoddard Chandler. She was raised in Clearfield, UT and graduated from Clearfield High School.  She also graduated from Weber State College, where she met her sweetheart, Harry (Bud) DeRyke.  They were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on September 6, 1968.

They are the parents of Holly (Richard) Clark and Jana (Brian) Ingles. Their cherished grandchildren are Natalie, Caleb and Joshua Clark, Briana (Jake) Clow, Jacob, Cassie, Carter and Clara Ingles. Yvonne was an amazing big sister to her 6 younger siblings, RaNae (Don-deceased) Hulse, Steven (Nelda) Chandler, Marie (Lee) Christensen, Becky (Scott) Jorgensen, David (Chris) Chandler, and Peggy (Chris) Read.

Yvonne worked as the librarian at Wasatch Elementary in Clearfield for many years.  She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in Relief Society, Primary, and Cub Scouts.

She wore out her life in service. She was an angel on earth and we know she’ll be busy helping others from heaven.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Layton Northridge Stake Center, 2375 E. 3225 N. Layton.  Friends may visit with family Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd, Layton, Utah and Friday from 9:30 to10:30 a.m.  at the chapel.  Interment at the Clearfield City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Yvonne requested that donations be made to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ Humanitarian or Mission Funds.
