SYRACUSE a€" Yvonne Green Gailey, 83, passed away Friday, August 10, 2007 at her home. Born August 9, 1924, the daughter of Ammon and Nellie Hicks Green, Yvonne grew up in West Weber and Clearfield. She graduated from Davis High School and Utah State University. She married Neil S. Gailey on February 4, 1949 in the Salt Lake Temple.

A faithful member of the LDS Church, Yvonne served a mission in the southern states as a young woman and held various callings throughout her lifetime. She taught elementary school for 23 years in the Davis County School District. She enjoyed crocheting, traveling, ceramics, family history and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Yvonne is survived by her husband of 58 years, Neil, two sons: Dwight Neil (Jan) Gailey, Morgan; Greg (Jana) Gailey, Syracuse; four daughters: Neilene (Joseph) Gertge, South Weber, Sharon (Douglas) Overdiek, Syracuse; Arlene (Edward) Gertge, Layton; Marilyn (David) Keller, Syracuse; 30 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren; and her brother Max (Shirley) Green, Missoula, MT.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Lisle and Kent Green; grandson Randy Gertge and great-granddaughter Xanthe Dalton.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 13, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Heritage Ward, (Syracuse Stake Center) 1350 So. 1800 W., Syracuse. Friends and family may call Monday from 9:30 to 10:45 at the church.
