Yvonne Fowler Kenley

May 31, 1928 – March 10, 2017

Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother, Yvonne Fowler Kenley, 88, passed peacefully into eternity on Friday, March 10, 2017 in Ogden, UT.

She was born on May 31, 1928 in Henefer, Utah to Merl and Grace Roberts Fowler.

A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Yvonne was baptized in the Weber River and enjoyed a lifetime of faith. She was raised in Henefer surrounded by loving uncles, aunts, cousins and neighbors before settling in Ogden.

On September 18, 1945 Yvonne married the love of her life, Glen Kenley in Clearfield, UT. Together they raised six beautiful daughters. In September of 2015 they observed their 70th wedding anniversary before Glen’s passing.

Yvonne was an amazing homemaker and mother. She became an excellent seamstress over the years having six girls to sew for. She enjoyed gardening and working in her yard. She also enjoyed family gatherings, camping, fishing, and hunting with all of her family.

Traveling always with her camera, Yvonne captured many wonderful moments on film. Mom’s greatest happiness was her family. She loved having them around her and watching them grow.

She and Glen have 20 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Yvonne is also survived by her daughters, Linda (Russ) Berrett, Pleasant View; Elaine (Frank) Nielsen, North Ogden; Julie (Steve) Baird, Henderson, NV; and Joyce Kenley, Ogden; as well as by her brother, Roger W. (Marie) Fowler, Clearfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, Merl & Grace Fowler; daughters, Marilyn Merrill and Carolyn Schreck; and then by her beloved husband, Glen Kenley.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. The family will meet with friends on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
