Zachary Michael Shumway
July 26, 1997 – September 30, 2021
Our beautiful Zachary Shumway was tragically taken in a car accident in Kaysville, Utah.
Zachary was married to Kierra Bingham, April 2, 2020, amid the pandemic shutdown. They lived together in Kaysville with her family.
Zachary was born in Bountiful, Utah and lived his entire life in Kaysville. We were all blessed to be the parents, brother, wife, in-law, and friend of such a beautiful human being.
Zach was one of God’s guardian angels on earth. Zach had a huge heart and was always concerned about other people’s welfare and happiness. He had a perpetual concern for humanity in general. He was most generous to those in need and passionate about social justice. Zach was also a patriot who loved his country and loved its principals and ideas that we are all created equal.
He had a voracious appetite for books and history. He was always reading about current events, world issues, politics, and social justice issues. Zach had a massive interest in non-fiction stories and loved reading stories from creative authors. He especially loved “Captain America”, which if you know Zach, is very fitting.
Zachary’s biggest love in life is his wife Kierra. They are made for each other in every sense of the phrase. Even though Zach had many challenges, Kierra and her loving family helped Zach bloom
into a proud and loving man.He was a most humble man and would be amazed at the outpouring of love to his family and wife from all the people who came to love him. We want to thank all who have reached out in support of the Shumway and Bingham families. He will always be our Captain America!
Zachary is survived by his wife, Kierra Bingham; his parents, Paul Shumway & Jean Dellangelo; his brothers, Joel Shumway, and Matthew Shumway; his grandmother, Alice (Eugene) Dellangelo, Negaunee, MI; mother- and father-in-law Cindy and Jason Bingham; brother-in-law, Alex (Sarah) Bingham, NJ; sisters-in-law Sami (McKay) Knudson & Olivia Bingham, and many, many aunts, uncles and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, or for those who use Facebook, the non-profit Eastman Family Recovery Foundation has a link on FB that is collecting money for Zachary Shumway’s family for funeral and burial expenses, and for medical expenses for his wife and sister-in-law.
