ZELMA LEE CARTER
OGDEN - Zelma Lee Carter fell asleep in death, freed from the grip of Alzheimer''s, on Sunday, April 10, 2011.
She was born on September 11, 1924 to Walter and Arneta Fortis Clay (better known as Juanita Boulden).
Zelma came to Ogden in 1945 where she met her hard working, future husband, Marion Glen Carter. They married on April 8, 1948.
Zelma worked for the government for 19 years in the Supply Directorate where she received numerous awards.
A desire to please the Creator, Jehovah God, motivated Zelma to start a diligent study of the scriptures in the bible. Her faithful efforts to gain bible truth lead to her dedicating her life to the service and worship of Jehovah. In 1987, she was baptized as one of Jehovah''s Witnesses, in symbol of that dedication.
Her friends and family will remember Zelma as a beautiful, classy, hardworking, kind woman who valued her privacy and took pride in her appearance and her home, which was always neat, clean and tidy. She took wonderful care of her mother, now deceased, for many years.
