Zola B. Jensen
WASHINGTON TERRACE - Zola Bell Jensen, 92, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 27, 2012. She was born on August 27, 1919, the daughter of Conrad Bell and Emma Nielson in Mink Creek, Idaho.
She graduated from Preston High School in 1938 and later from the Collegiate School of Beauty in Logan, Utah. While in Logan, she met her husband, Dean, at a St. Patrick''s Day dance. They were sealed in the Logan Temple on October 22, 1941. Dean passed away on November 26,1990.
They made their first home in Salt Lake City. During World War II, she returned to Mink Creek with her young son, Dennis, to live with her parents while Dean was away at war. After the war, they lived in Sahara Village and moved to Washington Terrace in 1950. She lived there until moving to Country Pines Assisted Living in May, 2011. Zola worked as a teacher, cook, and supervisor at CeCe''s Day Care in Washington Terrace. She also served as 2nd and 1st Vice President of the National Association Retired Federal Employees. Zola also served as Captain twice for the Prickley Pear Camp of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, serving as a docent 1 day a week at the Pioneer Museum in Ogden.
Zola was a member of the Washington Terrace 5th Ward for 55 years. At the time of her death, she was a member of the Country Pines Branch of the Clinton Stake. Zola was a faithful visiting teacher for many years. She also served as a Primary Teacher, Young Women''s 1st Counselor, Young Women''s Secretary, and Stake Young Women''s Secretary. The Gospel was a very important part of her life. She is survived by sons Dennis Jensen of Riverdale, Ken Jensen (Pat) of Pleasant View, and Boyd Jensen of Ogden; daughters Beth Patterson (Pat) of Roy and Joyce Newton of Clinton; 1 sister, Rula Smart of Logan; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; brothers S. Leon Bell, DeLos Bell, and James N. Bell; sisters Erma Crawford, Lorna Wilde, and Rayona Brendon; and one great-granddaughter, Chelsea Hadley. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Family and friends may visit on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment: Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
