Zona Marian (Fife) Bingham

Zona Marian (Fife) Bingham, 82, passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Peachtree Assisted Living in Roy, Utah after a long illness.  She was surrounded by family and was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, aunt, grandmother, and friend.

Zona was born on January 12, 1934 to Joe and Ethel Fife and grew up in Riverdale, Utah as the second oldest of five. Zona married Farrell J Bingham, August 19, 1954 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and was together with her sweetheart and best friend for 52 years until he passed away in 2006.

Mom work for almost 30 years in the school system and IRS cafeterias.

She held several callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints including Primary, Sunday School, Relief Society and ward missionary.  Her most favorite calling was teaching the 8 year old children the discussions prior to baptism.  Zona was a proud member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers Plain City Camp.

Her life was one of service and love to all. She spent her years caring for others.  Throughout her life she visited family and friends to see how they were doing and to offer any help she could.  She greeted everyone with a smile and no one ever went away from her house without being offered food or a cookie.

Zona is survived by her children, Craig (Cindy) Bingham, Rochelle (Clair) Mitchell, Keith (Carolyn) Bingham, and Jay (Lori) Bingham.  She also has 24 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.  Zona was preceded in death by her husband, Farrell; son, Kent; and brother, Don Fife.

We would like to thank the many doctors and nurses of Hospice of Utah, Emeritus Estates and Peachtree Assisted Living who all cared lovingly for her throughout her extended illness.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 4, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the Plain City Chapel, 2235 N 4350 W.  Friends may visit family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd. and Monday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the church.  Interment, Plain City Cemetery.
