James LeRoy Bailey

April 30, 1933 ~ April 5, 2017

James LeRoy Bailey passed away on April 5, 2017.  He was born in Huntsville, Utah on April 30, 1933 to LeRoy H. and Sarah Leona Bennington Bailey.   James grew up in Huntsville, and attended Weber County Schools.

He served from 1950 to 1953 in the Army during the Korean War.  He was a lifetime member and prior Commander of American Legion Post 129.

On March 25, 1961 James married JoAnn Howell in Elko, Nevada.  JoAnn passed away on October 6, 2016.

He worked as a sheepherder and rancher.  He also worked for Weber County Parks and Utah State DOT.  James enjoyed raising horses, keeping a beautiful garden, and sitting on his porch.

James is survived by his children, Wendy (Mark) Parker, James H (Priscilla) Bailey, and Shannon (Aaron) Reid; five grandchildren four great-grandchildren; and sisters, Helen and Dorothy.  He was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn and his parents.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Huntsville Cemetery.  Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
