Hooper – Richard S. (Rick) Widdison, died suddenly of a heart attack on August 11, 2016 at his home in Hooper.

Rick was born on June 2, 1956 in Ogden, Utah to Richard G. (Dick) and Shirley Hadley Widdison.  He lived his entire life in Hooper.  He graduated from Roy High School where he was involved in FFA.  He graduated with a master’s degree in Psychology from Weber State College.

He married Tana Rogers in Hooper.  They were later divorced.  He worked for Weber Livestock Auction and Parke’s Meat Packing.  He retired from Hill Air Force Base after working as a brake engineer and in logistics.

He raised all kinds of livestock and had many pets throughout his life.  He showed livestock in his younger years.  He liked going on vacation to Yellowstone with his cousins and family.  He liked staying up late at night watching movies.  He loved to collect antiques and other collectibles.

He is survived by his life partner of 25 years, Michael Flick of Hooper, Bruce and Ginny Hadley of Canon City, Colorado; cousins, Gilbert and Bonnie Kap of Hooper, Wendy and Kevin Fage of Roy, Utah, Mike and Cathy Hadley of Canon City, Colorado, Jack and Shaylee Hadley of Canon City, Colorado, and Kim and Syd Myers of Canon City, Colorado.  Rick is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Rick was a very unique individual who lived life on his own term and was a friend to all.  His sense of humor and kindness will be missed.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at the Hooper Cemetery, 5340 South 6300 West.  A celebration of life will follow at the Hooper Park immediately following the service.

Services entrusted to Lindquist's Roy Mortuary.  In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ricky Widdison Memorial Account at America First Credit Union for final expenses.
